Nicko Cruises has announced that Star Chef Johann Lafer, an official culinary ambassador of the company, will come onboard three river ships sailing the Danube in May 2027.

As part of the exclusive “ship-hopping” concept, the celebrity chef will provide a culinary barbecue highlights on the Viktoria, Bolero and Celina, with a menu specially developed for the occasion.

Lafer will also be available for talks and autograph sessions with guests. 

Celina

The 15-day voyage aboard the Celina will take place from May 17-31, 2027.

On the route from Passau via Belgrade, Vidin, the Cataract Route and Budapest, and back to Passau, guests will experience eight countries in 15 days with a mix of well-known Danube metropolises and lesser-traveled regions.

In addition to Vienna, Bratislava, Budapest and Belgrade, Vukovar, Turnu Severin and Belogradchik are on the program.

Viktoria

The eight-day voyage will sail from May 24-31, 2027, and leads from Passau via Vienna and Budapest to Mohács, and back to Passau.

Guests will travel further south of Hungary. From Mohács, they can take a trip to Pécs. Budapest also plays a central role in this trip.

Vienna, Bratislava, the Wachau and Ybbs supplement the route. From there, guests can discover, among other things, the Schallaburg and the baroque pilgrimage church of Maria Taferl.

Bolero

From May 24-31, 2027, the Bolero will also be sailing on the Danube. The eight-day roundtrip cruise from Passau showcases the classics of the upper Danube.

The ship will be moored overnight in Budapest, so that guests can experience the city illuminated in the evening and the city center in depth the following day.

The ship also stays late in Bratislava.
