VidantaWorld Voyages today announced the 2027 deployment for its first ship, the VidantaWorld’s Elegant.

According to a press release, the 216-passenger vessel will offer a series of itineraries in the Mediterranean that are highlighted by a special cruise focused on a total solar eclipse.

VidantaWorld said that the Elegant will offer a vantage point at sea for guests to experience the phenomenon while sailing between Kalamata and Chania in Greece.

The vessel will be directly within the eclipse’s path of totality as part of a seven-night cruise to Greece that sails from Athens in August 2027.

Other highlights of the season includes a cruise that includes a visit to Cannes, France, on May 12, 2027, timed to coincide with the opening of the Cannes Film Festival.

“We designed the 2027 itineraries around time; having more of it in the places that matter most,” said Ivan Chavez, executive vice president of Grupo Vidanta.

“From Cannes at the start of the film festival to the eclipse at sea, these voyages are built around moments that define a destination,” he added.

VidantaWorld stated that all itineraries were designed to maximize time in each destination through extended stays, late departures, and overnight calls.

The Elegant is set to offer multiple day calls in marquee destinations, such as Mykonos, Santorini and Monte Carlo, the company added.

The itineraries will also include a tender-on-demand service, allowing guests to explore freely, VidantaWorld noted.

“We want to show the Mediterranean at night, not just during the day,” Chavez added, noting that “the most beautiful moments in Europe happen around sundown.”

“We thought it would be such a shame for our guests to only experience sunsets on the way out of Europe on their way to the next destination,” he added.

The VidantaWorld’s Elegant will kick off its 2027 season in April, offering spring cruises in the Mediterranean through June.

Itineraries visit destinations in Portugal, Spain, France and Italy, during which the company said are quieter early-season months.

During the summer, the vessel offers what the company calls “Mediterranean Classics,” offering cruises to ports in Italy, including Capri and the Amalfi Coast.

The Elegant is also scheduled to offer itineraries to the Greek Islands and the Adriatic during peak summer, visiting Croatia, Montenegro and Greece.

The season comes to an end with additional itineraries in the Western Mediterranean, which sail in September and feature ports in Spain, France, and Italy.

VidantaWorld said that the 2027 Mediterranean program is now open for reservations, “with strong early demand expected for both the eclipse sailing and Cannes departure.”

Cruise Industry News, the VidantaWorld’s Elegant underwent a major refurbishment project before debuting for the company earlier this year.

The refit included the reduction of the ship’s guest capacity from 600 to 216, creating what the company said is an “intimate, yacht-like experience” with one of the most generous space-to-guest ratios at sea.

“From the beginning, our goal was to rethink what luxury at sea should feel like,” Chávez explained.

“We took a ship originally designed for more than 600 guests and intentionally reimagined it for just over 200 — because true luxury isn’t about adding more. It’s about creating space, ease, and a level of service that feels genuinely personal.”
