Jamaica Cruising, a cruise marketing brand of Jamaica Vacations Limited, is teaming up with global influencer IShowSpeed, who made a stop in Jamaica as part of his Caribbean tour.

The American Ghanaian content creator, whose full name is Darren Jason Watkins Jr., is sharing Jamaica’s locations, culture and experiences with millions of viewers worldwide, according to a statement.

Joy Roberts, executive director of Jamaica Vacations, said: “In the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa, with sections of the accommodation sector impacted and recovery efforts still underway, it is critical that we continue to keep Jamaica visible and top of mind globally.

“Cruise tourism remains a key driver in sustaining visitor arrivals at this time, and partnerships like this allow us to amplify Jamaica’s appeal in a meaningful and immediate way.”

She added that entertainment tourism and influencer marketing are powerful tools in ensuring tourism’s activity, relevance and accessibility as the island rebuilds.

Following his stay in Kingston, IShowSpeed visited the island’s North Coast, stopping at Miss T’s Kitchen, one of Jamaica’s most recognized culinary destinations, and then traveled to Ocho Rios to continue his culinary exploration.

The visit to Miss T’s Kitchen was also attended by Tova Hamilton MP, State Minister in the Ministry of Tourism.

“Kingston delivered an incredible cultural experience for the team, and it was equally important for us to expose them to the flavors and atmosphere of the North Coast before they departed the island,” added Roberts.

“Jamaica’s appeal extends far beyond its scenery. Our food, music, people, and energy are deeply connected to the visitor experience, and partnerships like these allow millions of people worldwide to experience Jamaica in a truly authentic way.”
