Heritage Expeditions will sail an exclusive preview voyage aboard its new expeditions vessel the Heritage Discoverer in November, according to a press release.

Having previously sailed as the Exploris One and Silver Explorer, the vessel found its new home at Heritage earlier this year, when the company said it would be renamed the Heritage Discoverer.

Called “The Ultimate South Georgia, Falklands and Antarctic Peninsula Cruise,” the new voyage is taking place ahead of the vessel’s maiden 2027-28 season release.

The 21-day cruise will sail November 19 – December 9, 2026, roundtrip from Ushuaia.

“Heritage Discoverer was purpose-built for authentic adventures like this and I can think of no better first voyage than navigating and exploring the rich history, astounding wildlife and frozen landscapes of these wild and remote parts of the world,” said Heritage’s commercial director and expedition leader, Aaron Russ.

Highlights include two days exploring East and West Falkland Islands where guests can see penguins, Albatrosses, Southern Sea Lions, South American Fur Seals and Southern Elephant Seals.

This is followed by four days of exploring the wildlife sanctuary of South Georgia, also known as the “Serengeti of the Southern Ocean,” where guests will be able to pay their respects at the grave of Sir Ernest Shackleton at Grytviken.

Finally, the voyage will culminate with five days to explore early season Antarctica, with each day featuring more than 20-hours of daylight.

The journey is timed to coincide with the arrival of wildlife breeding season, and the company noted that this is also when icebergs are at their most captivating.

Landings and visits could include sites like Cuverville Island, Paradise Bay, Port Lockroy, Petermann Island, Cierva Cove, Whalers Bay, Brown Bluff and Elephant Island.

A 40 percent discount for returning Heritage Expeditions guests and a 30 percent discount for first time travelers with the company are available for bookings made by June 30, 2026.
