Carnival Corporation has deployed Inatech’s Shiptech platform to help improve its fuel planning and procurement operations.
Thanks to real-time insights, the end-to-end digital platform allows users to make informed fuel purchasing decisions based on fuel price, quality, compatibility and availability.
According to a statement, Shiptech will be used to boost the fuel efficiency of more than 90 vessels operating under the Carnival brand.
“Modern cruise operations demand precision at scale,” said Michael McNamara, vice president of strategic fuel sourcing for Carnival Corporation.
“Shiptech gives us increased visibility and control across our eight global cruise lines and 94 ships so we can make even smarter, faster and more cost-effective fuel decisions all backed by real‑time data and meaningful insights.”
The digital platform, which supports multi‑brand and multi‑region operations, can unify and standardize data and streamline communication.
Thanks to this, the management of demand variance, supplier performance, cost innovation initiatives and commercial claims is said to be quicker and more accurate.
Looking ahead, Carnival plans to use the platform to support its broader cost management, sustainability, digital transformation and risk management objectives, Inatech said.
