The Valletta Cruise Port celebrated the maiden calls of two cruise ships on Tuesday, with the arrivals of the Norwegian Pearl and the MSC Euribia.

According to a social media update, both vessels made their first visits to the Maltese port, which is a subsidiary of Global Ports Holding.

To mark the occasion, the Norwegian Cruise Line vessel hosted local authorities, port officials, and officers for a traditional plaque exchange ceremony.

After arriving in Europe in mid-April, the Norwegian Pearl is currently offering its first cruise in the Mediterranean this season.

The seven-night voyage sailed from the Spanish port of Barcelona and is set to end in Ravenna, which serves as a gateway to the Italian city of Venice.

In addition to Malta, the itinerary features visits to ports in Greece, Croatia and Montenegro, such as Corfu, Kotor, Dubrovnik and Split.

As part of its summer season in the region, the Norwegian Pearl is scheduled to make an additional visit to Valletta in November.

The MSC Euribia arrived in Malta as part of a repositioning voyage to Northern Europe ahead of a summer season sailing to the Norwegian Fjords.

Sailing with no guests onboard, the LNG-powered ship spent almost two months docked in Dubai due to armed conflicts in the Middle East.

Having transited the Suez Canal earlier this month, the 4,888-passenger vessel is scheduled to welcome guests back in Kiel, Germany, on May 16, 2026.

While the Euribia is not scheduled to return to Valletta, MSC Cruises is deploying a series of ships at the port through 2027, including the new MSC World Asia.

The 205,700-ton vessel will make weekly visits to Malta during its inaugural season, which starts in December 2026.
