Guests who book Royal Caribbean International’s guarantee cabins will be able to pay a fee to have their staterooms assigned earlier.

According to guest reports, the initiative is part of the limited-time “Early Access” pilot program that was launched in late April.

The company is reportedly charging a $30 fee per cabin for passengers who want to be among the first to know their staterooms.

As part of the company’s guarantee stateroom policy, cabins are assigned automatically in a process that may only be completed days before the cruise.

With the program, passengers will know their staterooms in advance, receiving their assignment within 24 business hours of paying the fee.

“Early Access” is available for U.S. bookings on eligible room categories during specific pre-sailing windows.

Guests will be able to have their cabin assigned between 30 and 60 days before sailing for cruises of five nights or less.

Those who are embarking on six-night or longer cruises may have their staterooms assigned 50 to 80 days before sailing.

Royal Caribbean’s guarantee stateroom policy offers discounted prices and does not allow guests to choose their stateroom location.

Instead, passengers choose a specific category, including interior, ocean view, balcony or suite, allowing the company to pick the exact number and location of the cabin.

On Oasis- and Icon-class ships, the policy also includes an extra category, which will see passengers being assigned balcony cabins facing the vessel’s neighborhoods.

In related news, Royal Caribbean recently revealed plans to redeploy the Symphony of the Seas from Texas to Florida in 2027.

Initially scheduled to offer year-round cruises from Galveston, the Oasis-class vessel will now sail from Fort Lauderdale starting in August.

Earlier this year, the company also decided to redeploy the Freedom of the Seas, which will sail from Southampton instead of Port Everglades during the 2027 summer season.
