The Port of Montreal launched its 2026 cruise season on Friday with the arrival of the Victory I, kicking off a season that runs through October 31 and is expected to bring nearly 50,000 passengers to the city across 39 operations.
According to a press release issued by the port, Montreal will host 17 ships from 16 cruise lines in 2026, ranging from Ponant’s Le Bellot at 184 passengers to Holland America Line’s Volendam at 1,440 passengers.
The season includes nine port calls and 30 turnarounds.
The port said luxury ship calls have increased more than 220 percent since 2019.
Crystal Cruises returns to Montreal after a seven-year absence with the Crystal Symphony, and two ships make their Montreal debuts: Scenic’s Eclipse and Seabourn’s Ovation.
Five ships will extend their stays at berth to allow passengers additional time in the city: Viking Mars, Amera, Scenic Eclipse, Vista, and Crystal Symphony. Four roundtrip cruises departing from Montreal are also on offer, including two Volendam sailings and departures by Seabourn Ovation and Star Pride.
“The launch of this new season reflects Montreal’s growing attractiveness on the international stage,” said Marie-Claude Galarneau, Chief Human Resources and Strategy Officer at the Montreal Port Authority. “Beyond their tourism contribution, cruises generate tangible economic benefits for our local ecosystem and help showcase the St. Lawrence River, our port expertise and the city’s distinctive hospitality.”
“Welcoming prestigious ships and the strong growth of the high-end segment demonstrate Montreal’s appeal to international travellers seeking authentic experiences,” added Yves Lalumière, President and CEO of Tourisme Montréal.
