TUI River Cruises is adding 10 new excursions to its 2026 European program, which will enable guests to explore its newest port, Kladovo in Serbia, among others.
According to a statement, guests can visit Kladovo during a seven-night “East Danube Delights” roundtrip cruise from Budapest, Hungary on the TUI Maya starting at £1,610 per person.
“With our newest port, Kladovo in Serbia being added to the program and the latest refurbished ship TUI Aria sailing this summer, we’re expanding our excursion program to offer even more unique experiences along the European Waterways and beyond,” said Katy Berzins, head of River Cruise, TUI River Cruises.
“Customers travelling aboard our European fleet, TUI Aria, TUI Isla, TUI Maya and TUI Skyla, can now enjoy a wider range of cultural highlights. From a behind the scenes look at the iconic Iron Gates, to exploring the new port of Kladovo with a walking tour, this enhanced program brings greater flexibility and choice for those holidaying with us during the Summer 2026 season.”
Excursion highlights include:
This tour takes guests to HPP Djerdap I, one of the largest hydropower plants on the Danube. The itinerary continues through the Iron Gates Gorge and includes a photo stop at the remains of Trajan’s Bridge, an example of Roman engineering.
The route begins with a short walk to the Djerdap Museum, which presents the history and archaeology of the Iron Gates region. The tour then continues to the 16th‑century Fetislam Fortress.
This two‑hour tour combines a guided walk through Cologne’s historic center with a visit to the Time Ride VR attraction, where a 45‑minute virtual reality experience presents various periods of Cologne’s history using immersive technology.
This is a six‑hour trip to Rhine Falls Neuhausen. It starts with a coach ride along the River Rhine, then passes Medieval Laufenburg and crosses into Germany, where it follows hills and vineyards of the Klettgau region. Finally, guests reach Europe’s largest waterfall and they can also visit Schloss Laufen before returning to Basel.
The brand’s fourth river cruise ship, the 190-passenger TUI Aria, will also sail along the Danube and Rhine this summer for the first time.
