Adora Cruises announced the launch of what it says will be China’s first “cruise-to-nowhere” voyage aboard the Adora Magic City.
According to a press release, the voyage will depart on June 6 from the Shanghai Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal for a three-day, two-night weekend journey at sea.
The aim is to create a “micro-vacation” experience at sea, with nonstop, day-and-night celebration for all guests onboard.
Themed parties, stand-up comedy, magical performances, cocktail receptions, dances and stage shows are some of the things guests can look forward to.
“With this cruise-to-nowhere itinerary, we have innovatively introduced a ‘sea carnival’ theme, creating a unique new weekend vacation option,” said Adora.
“This dynamic weekend journey not only meets people’s aspirations for a better life but also injects strong momentum into new cruise consumption and opens up more possibilities for China’s cruise tourism market.”
Each bar onboard will have a unique style, with guest bartenders from “Asia’s 50 Best Bars” presenting bartending performances, Adora explained.
A “Sea Tipsy Passport” will be available for check-in activities, unlocking exclusive drink packages and signature cocktails.
Guests looking for sports activities can join basketball games, team-based extreme challenges, high ropes courses and water slides.
Around-the-clock dining options will also be offered, including global buffet selections during the day and à la carte dinners in the evening, paired with late-night seafood stalls and barbecue snacks.
“This cruise-to-nowhere product launched by Adora Cruises represents a bold innovation in cruise offerings,” said Ye Xinliang, Associate Dean of the School of Management at Shanghai University of Engineering Science and Deputy Director of the Shanghai International Cruise Economy Research Center.
“Without overseas port stops, more Chinese consumers can easily board without taking leave and enjoy a weekend experience. It is especially suitable for curious young people, busy professionals, and those seeking fresh experiences.”
