Atlas Ocean Voyages will open bookings for the maiden season of its new sailing yacht, the Atlas Adventurer, on May 20, 2026.

According to the company’s president and CEO, James A. Rodriguez, reservations will open first for the members of the brand’s loyalty program, the Atlas Yacht Club.

The general public will be able to book the first 15 cruises onboard the new 400-guest vessel on June 10, 2026.

The Atlas Adventurer will enter service in Japan in November 2028, kicking off a winter season in Asia and the Indian Ocean.

The ship is then scheduled to offer itineraries to Africa before repositioning to the Mediterranean via Egypt and the Red Sea.

Also available is a 128-day grand voyage that combines different cruises for a journey between Japan and South Africa.

Most of the destinations set to be visited during the inaugural season will be new to Atlas Ocean Voyages.

Rodriguez said that the new itineraries are especially popular with returning guests, with the company offering pre-booking deposits.

Set to be constructed at the China Merchants Shipyard, the Atlas Adventurer is said to be the world’s first sailing ice-strengthened ship.

One of the highlights of the ship’s design is its capacity to sail for 30 days without needing to refuel or get supplies.

The vessel will also be equipped with a dynamic positioning system for less impact on the environment, as well as battery packages that can be charged by the vessel’s pods.

According to Mário Ferreira, chairman of Mystic Investment, which owns Atlas Ocean Voyages, the Atlas Adventurer will also be the largest sailing ship ever built.

The 26,000-ton vessel will use solid-sail technology, enabling it to save up to 40 percent fuel while sailing in the right conditions.
