Swan Hellenic has announced two Grand Voyages taking guests southward along the West Coast of Africa in fall 2026.

The two Grand Voyages can be combined into a 26-day exploration from Dakar to Luanda, spanning 14 countries and 18 ports, the company said in a press release.

Additionally, the West African program will grow to nine cruises across two seasons in 2027.

There will be four northbound spring voyages covering 14 countries in 46 days from Cape Town to Lisbon, and five southbound fall cruises spanning 15 countries in 51 days from Lisbon to Cape Town.

“Now entering our fourth year in West Africa, I believe Swan Hellenic has built something truly special. Few expedition cruise companies can match our knowledge and experience of this region, particularly in the most remote ports and expedition areas,” said Swan Hellenic CEO Andrea Zito.

“We continuously refine the guest experience by listening to feedback and drawing on the deep trust we have earned with local authorities and communities in every country we visit. Our expeditions prioritize meaningful connection, building into curated voyages that change how our guests see and relate to Africa and exploration itself.”

According to Swan Hellenic, the voyages aboard the SH Diana explore places rarely visited by other cruise lines, ranging from historic slave trading sites to places such as the remote Ilha dos Tigres in Angola, the Loango National Park in Gabon and Banc d’Arguin in Mauritania.

The voyages are complemented by cultural ceremonies, expert lectures and photography workshops at sea, among other things.
