Southern Chinese cruise hubs Xiamen and Guangzhou have launched new 2026 sailings as Xiamen launched its new season, including a themed voyage, while Guangzhou concluded a winter/spring season and is preparing for a newbuild to arrive.
In Xiamen, the 2026 cruise homeport season officially started on April 1 with the Adora Mediterranea departing from the Xiamen International Cruise Homeport.
The vessel embarked on a six-day Maritime Silk Road-themed itinerary to Manila and Boracay in the Philippines, marking the port’s first “Maritime Silk Road” cruise route of the year.
To enhance the onboard experience, the company introduced Southeast Asian specialty ingredients like pandan leaves to its menus for the first time.
In April, the Adora Mediterranea is scheduled to operate four themed sailings from Xiamen to various Southeast Asian destinations.
Simultaneously, Guangzhou’s Nansha International Cruise Terminal concluded its 2026 winter/spring season, which ran for 111 days from December 7, 2025, to March 28, 2026, with the Adora Mediterranea.
The season saw 23 sailings and 71,885 passengers. It featured cruises to destinations including Hong Kong, Japan, Vietnam, Malaysia and Brunei.
Port authorities confirmed that the Adora Flora City is slated to use Guangzhou Nansha as its primary homeport upon its expected delivery at the end of 2026.
