StarDream Cruises is reinforcing its commitment to talent development and industry-academia collaboration through an ongoing partnership with the National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism (NKUHT).
This collaboration aims to nurture future hospitality leaders and strengthen the cruise industry workforce capabilities in the local markets and across the region.
“A strong homeport presence allows us to deepen our engagement with the local cruise ecosystem while creating meaningful opportunities for talent development,” said Michael Goh, president of StarDream Cruises.
“Through our partnership with NKUHT, we are combining academic excellence with real operational experience to support industry growth, elevate standards and help shape the next generation of hospitality professionals for the region,” added Goh.
The company said in a press release that a delegation from StarDream Cruises recently visited NKUHT in April to meet with the university’s newly appointed President, Dr. Victor Der-Long Fang.
The visit reaffirmed both parties’ shared vision of bridging academic learning with real-world experience in the cruise industry while continuing to support internship opportunities onboard StarDream Cruises’ vessels.
During the visit, representatives from both sides also discussed expanding collaboration in talent development, internship placements and graduate recruitment.
The company said that the focus remains on equipping students with practical skills and global exposure in the hospitality and cruise sectors.
The strengthened collaboration further enhances the strategic partnership between NKUHT and StarDream Cruises by bridging academic curriculum with real industry operations.
According to the company, it also provides structured internship and employment opportunities onboard, strengthens talent pipelines for regional cruise operations, supports career readiness and promotes cruise industry awareness.
