Carnival Cruise Line changed the itinerary of the current cruise aboard the Carnival Spirit due to ongoing maintenance onboard the vessel.

According to a statement sent to guests, the ship is dropping a visit to Bimini and adjusting its visit to Nassau.

“The Carnival Spirit needs in-service work during your voyage, which will change our itinerary,” the company said in its letter.

Sailing from its homeport in Mobile, the 2001-built ship is currently offering a seven-night cruise to the Bahamas.

In addition to Bimini and Celebration Key, the original itinerary also included a visit to Nassau, which remains unchanged.

Initially set for April 7, the visit to Carnival’s private destination in Grand Bahama was moved to April 8, 2026.

Port times for the call also changed, with the ship now scheduled to arrive at 8 AM instead of 12 PM and to depart at 5: PM instead of 7 PM.

Carnival said that pre-purchased shore excursions for Bimini will be cancelled and refunded to their original form of payment, while tours in Celebration Key will be moved to the new date.

“We regret that we will not be able to deliver the full itinerary we had planned and apologize for the unexpected modification,” the company added.

As a gesture of appreciation for guests’ understanding, Carnival is offering a $100 onboard credit per stateroom.

The Carnival Spirit is scheduled to return to Alabama on April 12, 2026 and then it will sail on a repositioning cruse to the West Coast.

Sailing between Mobile and Seattle, the 16-night voyage includes a transit of the Panama Canal, in addition to visits to destinations in Colombia, Costa Rica and Mexico.

Along with the Carnival Luminosa and the Carnival Miracle, the Spirit is one of Carnival’s ships spending the 2026 summer season sailing in Alaska.
