The MSC Poesia recently resumed service after undergoing a series of enhancements at the Palumbo Shipyard in Malta.
Set to mark MSC Cruises’ debut in Alaska later this year, the 2008-built vessel spent almost two months at the facility in Valetta.
Part of a modernization effort that will see all of MSC’s Musica-class ships undergoing refits, the project included the introduction of new dining venues, as well as updated public areas.
The 90,000-ton vessel also saw the addition of the company’s ship-within-a-ship product, the MSC Yacht Club.
Onboard the MSC Poesia, the concept offers 62 new suites, as well as a private sun deck, a dedicated restaurant and an exclusive lounge.
Other changes to the ship included the addition of MSC’s American-style steakhouse, Butcher’s Cut, in addition to a new area for Kaito Sushi Bar.
The vessel’s casino and gym were also modernized with new equipment and a new layout, while staterooms and technical areas were updated.
The MSC Poesia welcomed guests back on April 6, 2026, kicking off a trans-Atlantic crossing to PortMiami.
Sailing from the port of Civitavecchia, the 17-night repositioning voyage includes visits to Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, the Bahamas and St. Maarten.
In late April, the ship embarks on its first ever Panama Canal cruise, sailing from Miami to Seattle as part of an 18-ight itinerary.
In addition to transiting the waterway, the voyage sails to destinations in Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica, Mexico and California.
Starting in early May, the MSC Poesia offers seven-night cruises to Alaska and Canada sailing from its new homeport in Seattle.
The itineraries feature visits to Ketchikan, Juneau, Icy Strait Point and Victoria, as well as scenic cruising at Endicott Arm/Dawes Glacier.
Following a winter season sailing from Miami to the Caribbean, the MSC Poesia returns to Alaska for a second summer season in 2027.
