Ponant Explorations has announced its jazz-themed Baltic cruise setting sail in early 2027.
The 11-day, 10-night “Jazz Festival, from the Baltic to the North Sea” aboard Le Commandant Charcot, will sail from Helsinki (Finland) to Bergen (Norway) Jan. 23-Feb. 2, 2027, according to a statement.
Developed in collaboration with Jazz at Lincoln Center and the Festival Marseille Jazz des Cinq Continents, the musical journey will feature exclusive concerts, jam sessions and a tribute to the collaboration between Antônio Carlos Jobim and Stan Getz.
“Cultural enrichment is at the heart of what we do. When our guests sail with us, they enter into a deeper conversation with the world—informed by the perspectives of leading artists and thinkers, explorers and scientists,” said Susan Robison, VP marketing and communications, Americas, Ponant Explorations Group.
“This partnership reflects that commitment at the highest level. Jazz, like exploration, is at its finest when it is fearless, curious, and open to the world—and that spirit reverberates throughout Le Commandant Charcot.”
The program will be led by Jason Olaine, Head of Programming for Jazz at Lincoln Center, and Hugues Kieffer, Director of the Festival Marseille Jazz des Cinq Continents.
Highlighting Bossa Nova and Swing, the repertoire will be led by saxophonist Julian Lee and his Quartet, with special guest vocalist Mar Vilaseca, alongside pianist Caelan Cardello, bassist Russell Hall and drummer Matthew Lee.
Award-winning Estonian pianist and vocalist Kadri Voorand will also be performing during the voyage.
Part of Ponant’s Timeless Explorations experience, the journey from Helsinki will call at Tallinn, Estonia; Stockholm (overnight), Visby and Gotland, Sweden; Skagen, Denmark; and Kristiansand, Egersund and Lysefjorden, Norway.
All-inclusive fares begin at $13,380 per guest and those booking before April 30, 2026, will receive a complimentary one-night hotel stay in Helsinki.
