The cruise line said in a press release that its ships are currently positioned in the Arabian Gulf – the Celestyal Discovery in Dubai, UAE, and the Celestyal Journey in Doha, Qatar – as they wait to reposition to Athens, Greece.
“Our priority remains the safety and confidence of our guests, crew and partners. While we know this will be disappointing, making this decision now provides greater clarity and flexibility for those affected,” said Celestyal Chief Commercial Officer Lee Haslett.
“Our teams are working closely with guests and travel partners to support rebooking options and ensure a smooth transition, and we remain focused on returning to service in the Mediterranean as soon as it is safe to do so.”
All guests and non-operational crew have been disembarked, with a full refund or a future cruise credit available to all guests impacted.
The cruise line said it continues to monitor the situation closely, with the departure from the region expected to take place as soon as the authorities allow.
Both vessels remain fully operational, with preparations underway for their return to service.
