Carnival Cruise Line is removing visits to Tracy Arm Fjord from its itineraries during the upcoming summer season in Alaska.
According to a statement sent to booked guests, the change affects sailings scheduled for the Carnival Miracle, the Carnival Luminosa and the Carnival Spirit.
“We have been closely monitoring geological conditions in Tracy Arm Fjord. The waterway is currently not suitable for cruise ship navigation,” the company explained.
“So, we have made a minor adjustment to our itinerary and will be cruising Endicott Arm Fjord instead,” Carnival continued.
The company said that, with the change, its ships will “essentially be turning right instead of left upon entering the fjords.”
Carnival added that Endicott Arm offers “equally breathtaking scenery,” noting that it is confident guests will also enjoy the experience in the fjord.
According to the company, pre-booked shore excursions will be automatically moved to reflect the adjustment.
Affected sailings include all cruises onboard the Carnival Miracle scheduled to sail between April 27, 2026, and September 17, 2026.
All departures of the Carnival Spirit from April 28, 2026, to September 15, 2026, were also adjusted due to the change.
For the Carnival Luminosa, affected sailings include the cruises set to depart on April 27, May 11, May 25, June 8, June 22, July 6, July 20, August 3, August 17, August 31 and September 10, 2026.
Sailing from Seattle, the Carnival Spirit and the Carnival Miracle are scheduled to offer seven-night cruises to Alaska and Canada.
In addition to Endicott Arm Fjord, the itineraries of the vessels feature visits to a range of destinations, such as Skagway, Ketchikan, Victoria and Juneau.
Sailing from San Francisco for the first time, the Carnival Luminosa will offer 11-night cruises to the region.
The ship’s longer itineraries are highlighted by stops in Prince Rupert, Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway.
