Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) christened its newest ship, the Norwegian Luna, in Miami on Friday, marking the latest addition to the company’s Prima Plus Class fleet.
The ceremony took place at NCL’s LEED Gold Certified terminal at PortMiami before more than 2,000 guests.
Street artist ELLE, named the ship’s godmother, created the vessel’s hull artwork, a vivid piece titled “La Luna,” and performed the traditional bottle-breaking to bless the ship.

“Norwegian Luna represents the evolution of NCL — a brand built on freedom, flexibility and delivering experiences that resonate with every type of traveler,” said Marc Kazlauskas, president of Norwegian Cruise Line.
John W. Chidsey, president and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd., called the christening “an important milestone for our Company and a moment of great pride for our entire team.”
From April 2026 through April 2027, Norwegian Luna will sail Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries, including calls at NCL’s private destinations Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas and Harvest Caye in Belize. The ship will then reposition to New York for Bermuda sailings from April through October 2027.
