The Ovation of the Seas recently entered drydock in Singapore to undergo a major refurbishment as part of Royal Caribbean International’s Royal Amplified program.
During the month-long refit, the 2016-built ship will see the addition of new features and updated public rooms, as well as extra cabins and refreshed areas.
Among the main changes coming to the Ovation is the expansion of the ship’s Casino Royale, which will feature additional gambling areas.
The vessel is also getting a new nightclub, in addition to Royal Caribbean’s Pesky Parrot tropical-themed bar.
New dining venues are being added as well, with Wonderland being replaced by Izumi Teppanyaki and Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen taking over the space of Jamie’s Italian.
Other significant changes include the addition of 40 new staterooms, which will replace technical areas and public rooms from decks 5 to 16.
The ship’s Suite Lounge, as well as its teens area, will be relocated as part of the refurbishment.
The Ovation of the Seas is set to welcome guests back on April 17, 2026, kicking off the first leg of its repositioning voyage to North America.
Sailing from Singapore to Yokohama, the 14-night cruise features visits to destinations in Vietnam, China, Taiwan and Japan.
From Yokohama, the Ovation starts a 15-night voyage to Canada, which will end in Vancouver on May 15, 2026.
The ship is then set to kick off its summer season in Alaska, offering open-jaw itineraries that sail between Vancouver’s Canada Place Cruise Terminal and Seward.
The weeklong itineraries are highlighted by visits to Sitka, Ketchikan, Icy Strait Point and Skagway, as well as scenic cruising at the Hubbard Glacier.
The latest round of Royal Amplified refurbishment program will see three ships undergoing refits in 2026.
In addition to the Ovation, the Harmony of the Seas and the Liberty of the Seas are also scheduled to enter drydock for major modernization projects.
