The Costa Favolosa recently sailed from the port of Buenos Aires in Argentina for a repositioning voyage to Europe.
Wrapping up a four-month season in South America, the Costa Cruises vessel is now offering a trans-Atlantic crossing that will sail to the company’s Palacrociere Cruise Terminal in Savona.
The 19-night itinerary sails to Uruguay, Brazil, Cape Verde, Spain, Morocco and France before ending in Italy in early April.
Ports of call being visited include Punta del Este, Montevideo, Rio de Janeiro, Recife, Mindelo, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Tangier, Barcelona and Marseille.
The Costa Favolosa is then set to operate spring cruises in the Mediterranean and the Atlantic before repositioning to Northern Europe for the summer.
For its first sailing in the region, the vessel offers an 11-night itinerary to Spain, France and Portugal departing from Italy.
The port-intensive cruise sails from Savona features visits to Marseille, Barcelona, Valencia, Alicante, Cartagena, Málaga, Cádiz and Lisbon.
In mid-May, the ship arrives at the German port of Hamburg for itineraries to Scandinavia, Iceland, the British Isles and more.
The season in Northern Europe runs through early November, when the Favolosa is scheduled to reposition to the Caribbean for the winter.
The Costa Favolosa spent the last four months serving national markets in South America, with itineraries departing from Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina.
Opening Costa’s 2025-26 season in the region, the 2012-built vessel arrived in Santos for a series of short cruises in late November.
In late December, the 3,012-passenger vessel repositioned to Buenos Aires for itineraries that also allowed passengers to start their cruises in Rio de Janeiro and Montevideo.
In addition to the Favolosa, Costa’s winter season in South America also featured the larger Costa Diadema.
The vessel arrived in the region in early November for a charter operation and is set to offer cruises between Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil through late April.
