TUI Cruises cancelled upcoming sailings in Europe onboard the Mein Schiff 5 due to the current conflicts in the Middle East.

With the ship still stuck in the Arabian Gulf, two planned cruises in the Mediterranean will no longer go ahead.

According to a statement issued by the company on Thursday, the April 17 and April 24, 2026, sailings are now cancelled.

The first cruise was set to depart from Palma de Mallorca, Spain, before heading to Mein Schiff 5’s summer homeport in Heraklion, Greece.

As part of the seven-night itinerary, the vessel was set to make visits to Palermo in Italy and Valletta in Malta, as well as Piraeus and Chania in Greece.

The second cancelled cruise was set to sail roundtrip from Heraklion, visiting destinations in Greece and Turkey, such as Mykonos, Chania, Piraeus and Istanbul.

TUI said that all affected passengers are being informed of the cancellations by its customer service teams.

The company noted that the decision follows the travel and safety advice issued by the German Foreign Office for the Arabian Gulf, which remains unchanged.

“The primary objective now remains the safety and well-being of the remaining crew onboard the Mein Schiff 4 and the Mein Schiff 5,” the company added.

The company said that its crisis management team is working continuously with the relevant authorities and embassies, international security experts and its security teams on an ongoing assessment of the situation in the Middle East.

TUI added that it continues to study possible scenarios to get the two ships back into their regular itinerary schedule.

Earlier this week, the company cancelled a cruise onboard the Mein Schiff 4 that was set to depart from Cape Town, South Africa.

Sailing to Palma de Mallorca, Spain, the 20-night repositioning voyage was scheduled to start on April 11, 2026.
