The fitness and spa areas on the MSC Poesia are getting an update tailored to its inaugural Alaska season, MSC Cruises said in a press release.
The refurbishments happening while the ship is in drydock in Malta include a newly designed MSC Aurea Spa and an expanded MSC Gym by Technogym.
“We have taken a thoughtful approach to enhancing MSC Poesia, ensuring the onboard experience matches Alaska’s bold and inspiring character and surpasses our guests’ expectations,” said Lynn Torrent, president, MSC Cruises North America.
“The refreshed spa and wellness areas offer new spaces to relax, recharge and warm up after a day of exploring Alaska’s legendary landscapes, delivering the perfect mix of European style and American comfort, along with the comfort and quality MSC Cruises is known for.”
In addition to updated treatment rooms and a redesigned thermal area, the Aurea Spa will offer treatments suited to colder climates to complement the Alaska experience.
This includes massages and therapies aimed at easing muscle tension and helping the body recover from colder temperatures, as well as post-excursion recovery experiences.
The spa will also introduce products such as warming creams, oils and hydrating treatments designed to help protect the skin against the cold.
Furthermore, the MSC Gym by Technogym will be relocated and updated with new equipment and a larger layout.
The space will include dedicated studios for group classes and a separate cycling studio.
Personalized wellness consultations will also be offered, including Footbalance and InBody assessments.
Following the refurbishment and a repositioning voyage, the MSC Poesia will sail seven-night Alaska itineraries from Seattle starting in May and lasting until September 2026.
