Cruise Newfoundland & Labrador has announced the province’s 2026 cruise schedule, spanning 197 days from April to October.

According to a press release, more than 180 cruise ships will call at nearly 30 ports and destinations throughout the province, welcoming over 100,000 passengers and more than 50,000 crew members.

The Viking Polaris will open the season on April 10 at Woody Point and Oceania Cruises’ Vista is set to close it on October 23 at Corner Brook.

“As cruise travel continues to evolve, we are seeing more interest in destinations that offer something different,” said Katelyn Budgell, managing director of Cruise Newfoundland & Labrador.

“Newfoundland and Labrador offers space, quiet, and a true sense of place. It’s an opportunity to step away from the pace of everyday life and experience something more grounded — something many travelers are actively seeking and that’s why they are choosing itineraries that visit our region.”

The 2026 season will see a mix of large ocean vessels, small luxury ships and expedition vessels, the association said.

Cruise lines calling throughout the season include Princess Cruises, Celebrity Cruises, Carnival Cruise Line, Adventure Canada, Viking Expeditions, Ponant, Lindblad Expeditions, Silversea, Seabourn and Oceania Cruises.

St. John’s is expected to remain the most visited cruise port, forecasting 39 ship calls in 2026, including 13 turnaround calls and six overnight visits.

September 29 is described as the season’s highlight, when L’Anse aux Meadows – a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the only confirmed Viking settlement in North America – is set to be visited by three expedition vessels in a single day.

The association said it expects the 2026 season’s overall ship calls, passenger and crew to be similar to 2025 – said to be the longest in region’s history – when over 180 calls were hosted across 24 destinations.
