Adora Cruises has announced the appointment of Captain Wei Zhiyi as the new master of Adora Magic City.

This marks the first time a Chinese national has taken command of the vessel since its entry into service.

Captain Zhiyi officially assumed command of the 135,500-ton Adora Magic City on March 17, bringing more than 20 years of seafaring experience to the role.

His career includes senior officer positions with Princess Cruises and Costa Cruises.

From 2020, he served as master of the Piano Land, where he led the vessel through its Document of Compliance and Safety Management Certificate process. He joined China Cruises in 2024 and moved to the Adora Cruises team in June 2025. The handover took place in Shanghai, the ship’s homeport.
