Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. (NCLH) has announced three finalists of its “Keep Bears Wild” art contest.

In a statement, the company said the initiative’s goal is to raise awareness about responsible coexistence with bears in Alaska, noting that artists can help promote this through creative expression.

Part of NCLH’s Sail & Sustain program, the “Keep Bears Wild” call for artists invited artists across the United States to submit original artwork celebrating Southeast Alaska’s wildlife, natural environment and community stewardship.

It was made possible through a partnership with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of Wildlife Conservation.

The winning artwork will be featured on a mural in Downtown Juneau adorning the exterior of a newly constructed enclosure meant to keep trash secure from bears, as well as on bear resistant cans throughout Juneau’s downtown corridor.

The winner will receive $10,000 ($7,000 + $3,000 donation to a charity of their choice).

They will be picked by the community, and voting is live on Instagram.
