AIDA has set dates for the modernization of the next four AIDAselection ships as part of the “AIDA Evolution” future initiative.

In a press release, the company said Chantier Naval de Marseille will be ithe site of the seven-week Evolution program.

Ships are set to enter the shipyard according to the following schedule:

 

After completing their shipyard work, the first two ships will return to service with special inaugural voyages.

The AIDAmar will depart from Palma de Mallorca on December 20, 2026, for a week-long Christmas cruise through the western Mediterranean, with special guests Ross Antony and his husband Paul Reeves.

The AIDAblu will set sail from Rome/Civitavecchia on March 14, 2027, for Malta, Sicily, and Sardinia, with German chanson and pop singer Annett Louisan as a special guest onboard.

The company said it is investing nearly €100 million per ship in design, comfort, and technology.

This includes an expanded culinary offering, with 11 restaurants and 16 bars and lounges now available.

Restaurants will be serving Spanish, French and Asian dishes, and there will also be a Mediterranean buffet restaurant, a new Snack Bar, as well as an ice cream bar.

As for entertainment, there will be a new Panorama Bar as well as a new Ocean Club.

The cabins are also undergoing extensive modernization and will receive a complete facelift, the company added.

Six new suites are also being created at the stern of the ships, replacing the previous 12 balcony cabins.

Suite guests will also have access to additional exclusive areas, such as the Sky Deck and the Rossini Lounge.

The spa is also receiving an upgrade and two new wellness suites are being created.

All modernizations also include technological upgrades, meant to reduce fuel consumption, increase efficiency and cut emissions.
