Riverside Luxury Cruises has designed its European itineraries around shorter, combinable sailings that give travelers greater flexibility than the traditional seven-night cruise format, the company announced in a press release.
While many river cruise lines structure itineraries in fixed weekly blocks, Riverside offers sailings of three, four and five nights that can be added to other vacation plans along with classic seven-night itineraries.
Longer sailings are also available, ranging from 10 to 23 nights.
This modular structure allows guests to tailor their river cruise to their travel plans, choosing the sailing length, departure days and embarkation cities that suit their itinerary.
“Flexibility has been part of Riverside’s philosophy from the beginning,” said Jennifer Halboth, chief executive officer of Riverside Luxury Cruises North America. “Rather than asking travelers to plan their vacation around a rigid seven-night cruise schedule, our itineraries are designed so guests can build the journey that works best for them.”
The approach also opens a wider range of embarkation and debarkation possibilities along Europe’s rivers.
On the Danube, travelers can choose itineraries that begin or end in cities such as Vienna, Budapest or Passau, including Vienna roundtrip sailings.
Because Riverside sailings operate on a variety of departure days throughout the week, travelers are not limited to the standard Saturday-to-Saturday cruise schedule that dominates much of the river cruise industry.
Sample itineraries include a four-day, three-night exploration of the South of France, an 18-day, 17-night grand tour of Europe’s rivers and an eight-day, seven-night Vienna-to-Vienna roundtrip.
