The Port of Hamburg is celebrating its 837th anniversary in May, with AIDA Cruises participating as a sponsor for the 12th time.
In a press release, the cruise line described the event, which will be held from May 8 to 10, 2026, as one of Europe’s largest maritime events.
Three AIDA Cruises ships will be visiting the Port of Hamburg during the anniversary weekend, docking at two cruise centers:
Additionally, the 400-square-meter AIDA Urlaubswelt (AIDA holiday world) will also bring the cruise experience to life on land.
Located next to the Elbphilharmonie concert hall, it offers a place to relax with views of the harbor, and visitors can step inside a replica of an AIDAcosma show cabin.
Interactive activities and the AIDA Lounge, featuring live music, offer a program for cruise enthusiasts of all ages.
The AIDA holiday world will be open to guests:
Additionally, AIDA ship tours will also give guests the opportunity to walk down the gangway, stand at the railing and gaze out at the water or dine in one of the onboard restaurants during the Hamburg Port anniversary.
30 Years of AIDA
Since the first AIDA ship was christened in Rostock on June 7, 1996, the cruise line has planned events both onboard and ashore for its 30th anniversary, on June 7, 2026.
Hamburg is described as important for the company as the port with the most calls and guests worldwide, so three ships from the AIDA fleet will meet there to celebrate the anniversary.
The AIDAperla will arrive in the city on June 6, 2026, staying overnight to participate in the AIDA parade the following day.
The AIDAsol will then dock at the Altona cruise terminal on the following day, with the AIDAprima arriving that same evening.
