Hapag-Lloyd Cruises has unveiled 10 expedition cruises to the Seychelles and Madagascar aboard the Hanseatic Nature in winter 2027-28.
In a press release, the company said this is the first time it is placing the Indian Ocean at the center of its expedition season.
Sailing between October 2027 and March 2028, the voyages will be accompanied by an expedition team of up to 16 experts, including marine biologists, geologists, botanists and ethnologists.
They will provide daily briefings and lectures to guests in preparation for landings and Zodiac excursions, followed by onboard discussions.
Highlights include visits to the UNESCO-protected Aldabra Atoll, home to giant tortoises, and Madagascar’s eastern and northern coasts, known for their biodiversity, including endemic lemurs, chameleons and rare plant species.
Guests will also explore the coral reefs and lagoon systems of the Seychelles, learning about marine biodiversity and climate dynamics.
