Nicko Cruises is reportedly adjusting the itinerary of the current world cruise onboard the Vasco da Gama due to the recent conflicts in the Middle East.
According to a report by Schiff un Kreuzfahrten, two segments of the 175-night voyage were affected, including the current one, which sailed from Indonesia in late February and was set to end in Dubai on March 20.
Due to security concerns, the ship is no longer set to end the voyage at the United Arab Emirates port but will instead end the segment in Port Louis, Mauritius.
Originally sailing through the Suez Canal to Greece, the segment that was set to start in Dubai also underwent significant changes.
From Port Louis, the Vasco da Gama is now expected to sail to Europe via the Indian Ocean and around Africa.
The German website reported that a new itinerary is currently being finalized and will be first communicated to guests onboard the Vasco da Gama.
A subsequent segment, which was scheduled to sail from Greece to Spain, is also expected to undergo significant changes.
Cruise Industry News, Nicko was planning a unique land-based program in Saudi Arabia as part of its UAE-Greece segment.
Given security concerns in the Red Sea region, guests were scheduled to disembark the Vasco da Gama in Salalah, Oman.
While the ship would cross the region with crew-only onboard, passengers would take part in a four-day land program ending in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
In addition to providing hotel accommodation and a charter flight to Jeddah, Nicko was also offering a series of complimentary and optional shore excursions.
While additional details are still being finalized, the Vasco da Gama is expected to resume its original schedule in Málaga, Spain, on April 17, 2026.
Sailing roundtrip from Germany, Nicko’s 2025-26 world cruise departed from Hamburg on November 7, 2025.
