Scenic Group will add three river ships to its fleet in 2027 and 2028, including one Emerald Cruises vessel and two Scenic ships, the company announced in a press release.

“Our commitment to an additional three new river ships for the Scenic and Emerald Cruises brands reflects our confidence in the strong demand for our unique approach to luxury cruising,” said Glen Moroney, chairman and founder of Scenic Group.

The Emerald Nova will launch in June 2027 on the Douro River, joining the Emerald Radiance in Portugal.

The vessel will operate two itineraries, including the 11 day Douro Highlights: Porto, Salamanca and the Wine Valley cruise.

The Scenic Aria will launch in September 2027 on the Douro River, joining the Scenic Azure in Portugal.

The ship will operate the 11 day Unforgettable Douro and eight-day Delightful Douro itineraries.

The Scenic Spirit II will launch in early 2028 on the Mekong River, flowing through Vietnam and Cambodia.

The announcement builds on previously confirmed ships, including the Emerald Astra, which launched in May 2026 on the Rhine, Main and Danube, and the Emerald Lumi, debuting on France’s Seine River in 2027.

Combined with the launch of new yachts the Emerald Kaia in April 2026, the Emerald Raiya in 2027 and the Emerald Xara in 2028, as well as the Scenic Ikon in 2028, the commitment represents Scenic Group’s most significant fleet growth phase in nearly a decade.

The Scenic Aria and Emerald Nova are open for sales.

The Scenic Spirit II is available for pre-registration and will open for sale once the company announces its 2028-29 Asia river cruise deployment.
