Adora Cruises is launching the “Sea Film Festival” themed sailing season from late March to late June this year.
Organized in partnership with Changying Group, the immersive cinematic journey at sea will take place simultaneously aboard the Adora Magic City, Adora Mediterranea and the Piano Land, which is operated by Astro Ocean Cruises.
According to a statement, the first sailing will kick off aboard the Adora Magic City on March 29.
“In recent years, China’s film market has continued to flourish, and consumer enthusiasm for cinema keeps growing. Our collaboration with Changying Group is another innovative exploration of the ‘cruise + culture’ model,” said Adora Cruises in a statement.
“By creating new scenarios that integrate culture and tourism, we hope to bring classic films from the silver screen to the sea, allowing guests of all ages to resonate with these cinematic journeys and further enrich the cultural dimension of cruise travel.”
More than 100 classic and contemporary films spanning different eras will be shown in theaters and on in-cabin TV channels.
The Adora Magic City will also host film-themed cultural activities, including movie soundtrack sing-alongs, immersive interactive experiences and exhibition-style photo opportunities.
Artists from Changying will also come onboard to engage with guests and allow them to experience the cinematic art from their perspectives.
Known as the “cradle of Chinese cinema,” Changying has created, produced and dubbed more than 3,400 films of various genres over its 80-year history.
