American Cruise Lines will operate a 15-night, 16-day Grand Columbia & Snake Rivers Cruise starting in May 2027, the company said in a press release.
This roundtrip cruise from Portland, Oregon, will sail onboard the American Anthem, a 180-guest riverboat set to join American Cruise Line’s fleet in 2027.
The company said the amenities and accommodations aboard the vessel will be the finest of any riverboat in the world, mirroring the design of its sistership, the American Encore, which is on schedule for a May 2026 debut.
The 16-day Grand Columbia & Snake Rivers Cruise itinerary will start with an included pre-cruise hotel stay in Portland.
The following day, the American Anthem will embark from Stevenson, Washington, sailing westward to the mouth of the Columbia River in Astoria, where it flows into the Pacific Ocean
Then, it will continue eastward to the confluence of the Columbia and Snake Rivers near Richland, Washington; and onward into Clarkston, Washington, and Hells Canyon before concluding in Stevenson.
According to the press release, this new longer itinerary allows for more time for shoreside excursions throughout the region including new opportunities to explore Portland, Hood River, and St. Helens, Oregon, as well as Burbank/Walla Walla, Washington.
Excursions will be possible to sites like Mount Saint Helens, Multnomah Falls, and Cape Disappointment State Park, as well as Pendleton’s underground city and the Bonneville Dam.
Throughout the journey, onboard enrichment and shoreside experiences will also highlight Native American culture and the Lewis & Clark expedition, including an excursion at Fort Clatsop, where the explorers wintered in 1806.
The cruise will also showcase active excursions, from hiking and kayaking to rail-bike and e-Bike tours, jet boat tours in Hells Canyon, and flightseeing.
Opportunities to sample the area’s wine will also be available, with featured experiences offered at the Maryhill Winery, the Rivaura Winery, and several vineyards throughout the Walla Walla Valley.
The price for this cruise, which will depart once a month from May to September 2027, starts at $14,645.
