SlideCoaster, a combination of roller coaster and water slide developed by German company Wiegand.Waterrides, has won the IAAPA Brass Ring Award 2025.

The win came in the category “Best New Product – Water Park Ride/Attraction over USD 2 Million,” at the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) Expo in Orlando.

“The SlideCoaster combines powerful accelerations of up to 0.8 g, spectacular changes of direction and a unique uphill ride at speeds of up to 50 km/h before guests transition into a dynamic slide passage,” Wiegand.Waterrides said in a press release.

The company recognized the award as an important milestone, underlining its role in driving new trends and developments in the water attraction industry.

The first vessel to feature the SlideCoaster was the Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Aqua.

A second SlideCoaster is under construction for the Norwegian Luna, which is scheduled to embark on its first cruise from Florida in April 2026.
