China’s cruise shipbuilding ambitions are steaming ahead as the second large domestically constructed cruise ship, the Adora Flora City, has achieved a major construction milestone, with its overall progress exceeding 91 percent.

The vessel, currently under construction at the Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding yard, recently powered on its full exterior lighting system, signaling that the project is entering its final outfitting stages and remains firmly on schedule for delivery by the end of 2026.

The vessel is an upsized version of the Adora Magic City, which entered service in 2023. The Adora Flor\a City is expected to feature further localized adaptations and technological refinements, incorporating more Chinese design elements, food and beverage tweaks and entertainment options tailored for the domestic market.

Upon delivery, the Adora Flora City will operate in Northeast Asia sailing from Guangzhou.
