Holland America Line is increasing its capacity for the 2027–28 South America and Antarctica season, according to a statement.
The Nieuw Amsterdam will replace Oosterdam beginning in fall 2027.
“Our South America and Antarctica cruises continue to be among the most popular itineraries we offer, and demand has only grown,” said Beth Bodensteiner, president, Holland America Line.
“Bringing Nieuw Amsterdam to the region allows more guests to experience its incredible diversity — from penguins on Antarctic shores to colorful cities, majestic fjords and glacier lined channels. These destinations inspire a deep sense of wonder, and we’re thrilled to elevate the experience with one of our most beloved ships.”
With the Nieuw Amsterdam sailing the season, guests can look forward to expanded capacity, more stateroom and suite options, and access to guest-favorite dining venues such as Tamarind and Morimoto by Sea, the company said.
All 2027–2028 South America itineraries, including voyages featuring a four-day Antarctic Experience, will be available for booking Feb. 24.
