The Costa Serena recently made its maiden call to the port of Sihanoukville.

According to local news sources, Costa Cruises ship brought approximately 2,890 guests to the destination in Cambodia.

Currently offering a series of seven- to 21-night cruises to Southeast Asia and the Far East, the vessel arrived at Sihanoukville Autonomous Port on Feb. 4, 2026.

The visit to the port was part of an eight-night cruise that departed from Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Cruise Terminal in late January.

In addition to the Italian-flagged vessel, Sihanoukville has also recently welcomed ships from brands like Holland America Line and Norwegian Cruise Line.

As part of its final winter season in Asia, the Costa Serena is offering cruises in Asia aimed at international markets.

After an additional summer schedule in the region serving local markets, the vessel is set to reposition to the Western Hemisphere for the 2026-27 season.

Starting in December, the 2007-built ship offers three- to nine-night cruises departing from Buenos Aires in Argentina, Montevideo in Uruguay and Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.

The vessel is then set to return to Europe for the 2027 summer, offering a series of itineraries departing from ports in Italy, Spain, France and Greece.

After repositioning to Asia in 2015, the Costa Serena has been sailing year-round in the region for the past decade.

In addition to offering itineraries aimed at international markets, the vessel also served national markets in China, Taiwan, Japan, India and more.

Before kicking off its farewell season in the Eastern Hemisphere, the Serena also underwent a major refurbishment project in China.

As part of the modernization project, the 3,000-guest ship introduced new dining venues and updated staterooms, as well as a fresh and more modern look.
