With Alaskan Dream suddenly ceasing operations earlier this month, Cruise Industry News looks at the company’s former fleet.
The U.S.-flagged coastal vessels previously spent summers cruising for the company in Alaska. Plans for the vessels, which are currently laid up at the port of Sitka, are unclear.
Alaskan Dream

Building Yard: Nichols Brothers Boat Builders
A large catamaran, the Alaskan Dream was built at Nichols Brothers Boat Builders and entered service in the mid-1980s.
Originally ordered for Glacier Bay Yacht Tours as the Executive Explorer, the 40-guest ship was the first to join Alaskan Dream’s fleet after being acquired in 2010.
Baranof Dream

Former Names: Pacific Northwest Explorer and Spirit of Alaska
Building Yard: Blount Marine
Formerly operated by Cruise West as the Spirit of Alaska, the Baranof Dream was acquired by Alaskan Dream in late 2010.
With capacity for 49 guests, the U.S.-flagged ship was originally built at Blount Marine as the Pacific Northwest Explorer.
Admiralty Dream

Former Names: New Shoreham II and Spirit of Columbia
Building Yard: Blount Industries
The Admiralty Dream also joined Alaskan Dream’s fleet in late 2010, after being acquired from Cruise West.
Built at Blount Industries, the 58-passenger coastal vessel was ordered by the American Canadian Caribbean Line as the New Shoreham II and debuted in 1979.
Chichagof Dream

Former Names: Nantucket Clipper, Spirit of Nantucket and Spirit of Glacier Bay
Building Yard: Jeffboat Corporation
Formerly operated by Cruise West as the Spirit of Glacier Bay, the Chichagof Dream was acquired by Alaskan Dream in 2015.
Built by Jeffboat Corporation in Indiana, the 76-guest vessel was the largest in the company’s fleet and first entered service in 1984.
