AmaWaterways has announced the appointment of two senior executives: Virginia Suliman as chief technology officer and Michael Moghtader as chief people officer, according to a press release.

Suliman brings extensive technology leadership experience, most recently serving as chief information and digital officer at Invitation Homes, where she led a major digital transformation.

She also spent over 20 years at Hilton, ultimately serving as senior vice president of global software engineering.

“I’m thrilled to return to travel and join AmaWaterways at such an exciting time of growth,” said Suliman.

“Technology and innovation help our team work smarter and allow our guests to enjoy every moment of their journey from start to finish.”

Suliman now leads AmaWaterways’ long-term technology strategy and digital evolution.

Moghtader brings more than 20 years of experience leading human resources strategy, talent development and organizational transformation across hospitality, healthcare, retail and luxury brands.

Most recently, he served as chief people officer at Postcard Cabins, formerly Getaway.

His earlier roles include chief people officer at Conifer Health Solutions, vice president of human resources at Signet Jewelers and leadership positions at JC Penney, Victoria’s Secret and Banana Republic.

“AmaWaterways has built something truly special, not just for guests, but for the people behind the experience,” said Moghtader.

“As we continue to grow, my focus is on creating an environment where employees feel supported, connected and proud of the role they play in delivering exceptional journeys.”

At AmaWaterways, Moghtader leads the evolution of the People team, focusing on attracting and developing top talent, enhancing the employee experience and building systems and practices that support growth, connection and a culture where everyone can do their best work.

“Virginia and Kazem bring incredible experience and vision to AmaWaterways,” said Catherine Powell, chief executive officer of AmaWaterways.

“I am excited to see how their leadership will guide our investment in our teams and our technology to help us grow and continue to deliver the best possible guest experience on board and on shore.”
