Costa Cruises will mark World Nutella Day (February 5) with a range of offerings featuring this Italian staple at its Nutella Bar, the company said in a press release.
Guests onboard the Costa Toscana and Costa Smeralda can enjoy all-things Nutella on deck 17.
“The Nutella Bar brings Italy’s most beloved treat to our ships, and as an Italian brand, Costa is proud to bring the flavors and essence of Italy to guests on board,” said Priscilla Reyes, head of sales for Costa Cruises North America.
“World Nutella Day invites guests to savor exclusive Nutella creations at sea while enjoying the authentic Italian atmosphere of a Costa cruise.”
On a typical seven-day cruise, Costa says it uses between 80 and 120 kg of Nutella, depending on ship size and guest capacity.
Nutella-based creations on offer range from chocolate cake, crêpes, and pastries to Nutella pizza with fruit toppings, or crostata.
There are also gelato pairings, such as Nutella Gelato Affogato featuring a scoop of Fior di Latte gelato topped with warm Nutella, roasted hazelnuts and a delicate crunchy wafer.
Costa also offers an exclusive Nutella creation available only onboard, the signature “Nutella Crostata della Tradizione.” This Italian-style tart filled with Nutella is made daily by the onboard pastry team.
