Floating Accommodations is completing a housing charter in the Bahamas for TurnAgain Marine Construction.

The company said in a statement that it provided accommodations for the construction team that was building the new cruise ship pier at Norwegian Cruise Line’s private island Great Stirrup Cay.

“With numerous planned expansions and new projects throughout the Bahamas for the foreseeable future, the Grande Caribe offers a perfect solution for our clients’ housing needs,” said Espen Tandberg, managing partner at Floating Accommodations.

The 100-passenger Grande Caribe accommodation ship was selected for the project as it was suited for the shallow waters of the Bahamas.

Due to its shallow draft of only 6 feet 8 inches, the Grande Caribe is able to navigate and operate within restrictive cays and harbors throughout the Bahamas.

The ship is designed with an optional bow ramp loading to operate within restrictive areas with no existing port, making it suitable for Bahamas out island projects.

Fully self-contained, the ship offers clients an immediate turnkey accommodation solution for workers and staff.

Floating Accommodations, a subsidiary of U.S. Shipbrokers, has more than two decades of experience in providing accommodation solutions for industrial, institutional and governmental clients.
