Princess Cruises’ Diamond Princess now offers two new specialty dining venues, the company announced in a press release.
According to Princess, the vessel recently debuted its signature steakhouse, Crown Grill, in addition to Makoto Ocean, which focuses on Edomae-style sushi.
The company added that reservations for the new venues are now open for all sailings, further elevating the onboard culinary experience.
“With Makoto Ocean and Crown Grill now onboard the Diamond Princess, and also recently added onboard sister ship the Sapphire Princess, we’re proud to enhance the guest experience as Diamond Princess sails across Asia and as we look ahead to our dual-ship Japan season in 2027,” said Sami Kohen, Princess Cruises’ vice president of food and beverage.
Makoto Ocean, which premiered onboard the Sun Princess and the Star Princess, brings Chef Makoto Okuwa’s creations to the Diamond Princess.
Located on Deck 7, the venue is said to showcase a premium menu of signature dishes such as truffle salmon, snow crab temaki and toro tartare, paired with handcrafted cocktails inspired by Japanese flavors.
Options include the Genmai Negroni and Kodai No Hana, which blends yuzu juice with traditional Doburoku sake.
Princess said that the restaurant reflects its “continued commitment to elevated, globally inspired dining at sea.”
Also debuting onboard the Diamond Princess is Crown Grill, which is described as a “longtime Princess guest favorite.”
The venue was introduced in the former Savoy Dining Room on Deck 5 and serves premium aged beef, chops and fresh seafood. Princess also highlighted what it called an “elegant, welcoming atmosphere and attentive service.”
Both specialty dining venues are priced at $55 per person and are included for guests who book the Princess Premier package.
The Diamond Princess is currently sailing roundtrip from Singapore, offering a range of itineraries throughout the region, visiting destinations including Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam.
In a first for the cruise line, Princess Cruises will offer its most expansive Japan season ever in 2027, featuring the Diamond Princess and the Sapphire Princess. Both ships will sail from the Tokyo region throughout the entire season.
Described as a “major milestone for the brand’s legacy in Asia,” Princess’ 2027 schedule in the region includes 78 departures across 50 unique itineraries, with voyages ranging from seven to 28 days.
