The Aurora sailed from its homeport in Southampton earlier this month for P&O Cruises’ “Epic South America Journey.”

Sailing roundtrip from England, the 75-night cruise is now circumnavigating the region while visiting destinations in Brazil, Uruguay, the Falkland Islands, Chile and Peru.

Before returning to the UK, the 76,000-ton vessel is also scheduled to transit the Panama Canal and sail to destinations in the Caribbean.

Highlights of the itinerary include the ship’s maiden visit to the Brazilian port of Santos, where it is seen arriving in the photo, as well as a call to Port Stanley in the Falkland Islands.

The ship is also set to make overnight visits to a series of destinations in Brazil, Uruguay, Chile and Peru, including Rio de Janeiro, Montevideo, San Antonio and Callao.

Other highlights of the itinerary include scenic cruising around Cape Horn, which is considered the southernmost point of the Americas.

After transiting the Panama Canal, the Aurora is also scheduled to sail to a wide range of ports in the Caribbean, including Aruba, CuraƧao, Grenada and Barbados.

Additional destinations being visited during the cruise include Las Palmas in the Canary Islands, Mindelo in the Cape Verde Islands and Ponta Delgada in the Azores.

Delivered by the Meyer Werft shipyard in 2020, the Aurora recently completed 25 years of service for P&O Cruises.

In early 2025, the ship underwent a refurbishment project in the Netherlands, which updated some of its public areas and features.

The refit included the addition of new chairs in cabins and new balcony furniture, a general update to open-deck areas and more.

The Aurora is set to offer a similar itinerary in 2028, kicking off a new edition of P&O’s “Epic South America Journey” in Southampton on Jan. 3.
