HX Expeditions today announced its “HX Greenland Promise,” which will cover the company’s sailings in the region.

According to a statement, the initiative aims to demonstrate a commitment to any expedition itinerary featuring Greenland.

The company said that the promise is a proactive step, as the cruises in the region haven’t suffered any material impact at this stage.

“From a trade point of view, we’re seeing different reactions across markets, which is understandable given varying levels of media coverage and awareness,” HX explained.

“Travel to Greenland continues as normal, and HX Expeditions’ operations remain fully unaffected,” the company added.

HX stated that the destination continues to welcome visitors with a “strong commitment to sustainable tourism and cultural exchange.”

“In the highly unlikely scenario that we must cancel a Greenland cruise—or if the guest’s own government advises against travel—guests can change their booking to another HX voyage,” the company continued.

In this case, HX will also offer an additional 20 percent Future Cruise Credit to be used toward this new HX voyage or any other voyage. Passengers will also be able to opt for a full refund, the company added.

Full terms and conditions of the “HX Greenland Promise” are set out on a dedicated page on the company’s website, which is available here.

“Our Spring/Summer 2026 voyages are proceeding as planned, and we look forward to sharing the country’s extraordinary landscapes, wildlife and communities with our guests,” HX added.

“HX has developed deep partnerships across Greenland, particularly with Air Greenland and local community collaborators, supporting tourism growth and cultural engagement,” the company added.

In 2024-25, the operator said it managed the largest tourism turnaround in Nuuk’s history, welcoming over 1,000 guests through the new international airport and setting single-day passenger records on Air Greenland flights.

HX added that it remains the largest expedition cruise operator in Greenland by passenger numbers, according to Air Greenland. The company offers “a diverse portfolio of itineraries across both East and West Greenland.”
