Carnival Cruise Line will visit destinations in Africa for the first time as part of its 2027 summer season in the Mediterranean.
According to a press release, the Carnival Sunshine will be the company’s first ship to sail to the continent, visiting Tunisia and Morocco.
They will be featured in a series of seven- to ten-night cruises in the Mediterranean.
With departures scheduled for June and September 2027, one of the itineraries to the region sails roundtrip from Barcelona, Spain.
Sailing to Italy, Tunisia, and France, the eight-night cruise features visits to La Goulette, as well as Naples, Palermo, Ajaccio and Marseille.
The Carnival Sunshine is also set to visit Tangier in Morocco as part of its trans-Atlantic crossing back to North America.
The 13-night repositioning voyage sails from Barcelona to Miami in mid-October, visiting additional ports in Spain and the Cayman Islands, such as Alicante, Málaga and Grand Turk.
According to Carnival, the ship’s summer season in Europe was designed to support back-to-back vacation opportunities with visits to destinations in Italy, Spain, France, Turkey, Montenegro, Tunisia and Morocco.
The deployment includes over 15 departures, with cruises sailing from Barcelona, Civitavecchia and Dover.
Extending between May and October 2027, the season also includes a special solar eclipse cruise that will position the vessel along the path of maximum visibility for the celestial event that takes place in August 2027.
After its season in Europe, the Carnival Sunshine is set to reposition to Galveston for a series of ten- and four-night cruises to the Caribbean.
Carnival is also doubling its fleet in Europe in 2027, with two vessels set to offer summer seasons in the continent.
In addition to the Carnival Sunshine, the Carnival Miracle is also scheduled to offer itineraries in the Mediterranean and Northern Europe.
