Carnival Cruise Line has unveiled new 2027-28 sailings for the Carnival Sunshine, including the company’s first-ever visits to African ports, new European destinations, the return of guest favorites, and a special solar eclipse sailing.
“We’re excited to bring the Carnival Sunshine to an expanded lineup of destinations that offer our guests even more ways to explore Europe and beyond,” said President Christine Duffy.
The company said in a press release that from the end of May 2027 through October 2027, the Sunshine will operate a series of Mediterranean and North African cruises, offering week-long and longer sailings departing from Barcelona, Spain and Civitavecchia, Italy.
The program features calls across Italy, Spain, France, Turkey, Montenegro, Tunisia and Morocco.
The deployment includes Carnival’s first-ever visits to Africa, with calls in La Goulette (Tunis), Tunisia, and Tangier, Morocco, along with new European ports such as Bari, Italy; Bar, Montenegro; and Ajaccio (Corsica), France.
The ship will also return to several ports, including Genoa, Salerno, Palermo, and Catania in Italy; Palma de Mallorca, Spain; and Izmir, Turkey.
A highlight of the season is a special solar eclipse cruise departing from Barcelona, Spain, on July 25, 2027, for the celestial event on August 2, 2027.
To support its upcoming Europe program, the Sunshine will depart Norfolk, VA, on May 15, 2027, for a 15-day transatlantic sailing to Dover.
Beginning May 30, 2027, the ship will sail from Dover to Barcelona, featuring calls across Western Europe. At the end of the season, the Sunshine will depart Barcelona for Miami.
In addition to these sailings, the ship will offer a diverse lineup of 15 Europe sailings throughout the season.
