The Port of Fortaleza in Brazil welcomed a maiden visit from Oceania Cruises’ Vista on January 17, 2026.

According to local authorities, the ship brought over 1,200 visitors to the port’s Antônio Carlos Belchior Cruise Terminal.

Guests were welcomed by a reception that featured bilingual tourism guides, cultural presentations and other highlights.

The Oceania Vista became the third cruise ship to visit Fortaleza during the 2025-26 season, which started in late October.

Offering Oceania’s 180-day world cruise, the 2023-built ship arrived at the destination for a 12-hour call after visiting the Brazilian town of Belém.

In addition to the two ports, the six-month-long itinerary features visits to a wide range of destinations in the country and South America.

After leaving Fortaleza, the Vista is set to visit Salvador, Búzios, Rio de Janeiro, Ilha Grande, Santos, Rio Grande and Porto Belo, as well as Buenos Aires in Argentina and Montevideo in Uruguay.

Fortaleza is now getting ready to welcome two additional ships over the next few weeks: the AIDAmar and Phoenix Reisen’s Artania.

Offering a cruise to Brazil that sails roundtrip from Germany, the AIDA ship is set to visit the port’s cruise terminal on January 31, 2026.

Also serving the German market, the Artania will visit Fortaleza in mid-February. The 1984-built ship arrived in the port as part of a 125-night cruise to the Americas and the Caribbean.

Fortaleza’s 2025-26 season started with a visit from Swan Hellenic’s SH Vega, which arrived at the port in October. The town also welcomed the Seven Seas Splendor in December.

According to the town’s tourism authority, the ships are expected to bring over 5,800 passengers to the port.

The season “consolidates Fortaleza as a strategic destination in national and international itineraries,” the authorities said, while contributing to the town’s economy.
