Tallink Silja Line has introduced a themed buffet table developed with food influencers and their social media followers, the company announced.
The Grande Buffet menu was created in collaboration with five food influencers from Finland and Estonia, who worked with their TikTok and Instagram communities to develop dishes. The themed table will be available on all Tallink Silja Line ships until August 4, 2026, and is expected to reach up to 500,000 passengers.
The initiative followed a study among the company’s 18-25-year-old TikTok followers, which identified the Grande Buffet as a key reason to travel by ship.
“Grande Buffet is a highlight for many of our passengers. It is an experience that is anticipated and remembered,” said Joonas Maunula, creative head chef at Tallink Silja Line.
“When we saw how important it is, especially for younger travelers, we wanted to renew it boldly. Collaborating with food influencers and their communities brought a completely new level of creativity and authenticity to the process.”
The participating influencers are Joel Kiiskinen, Sonja Juntikka, and Melanié Rezé from Finland, and Liisu Miller and Kristjan Jakobson from Estonia. Jakobson won MasterChef Estonia 2024.
Each influencer engaged their social media communities in developing recipes and refining flavor profiles. Dishes include Joel Kiiskinen’s squeaky cheese hot dog combining Finnish leipäjuusto with jam, Sonja Juntikka’s viral mini cookies in three flavors, and Kristjan Jakobson’s shredded lamb with leeks and lentils.
The buffet selection also features Baltic Sea region ingredients, including Swedish Västerbotten cheese, Estonian cold-smoked salmon tartare, and Finnish blackcurrant herring, the company said.
